fabric spotlight: retro August 23 2017

Retro Red Floral

As we were choosing our fabric offerings, there was never any doubt that we would be including some retro-inspired patterns and color ways. Whether these retro fabrics bring back fond childhood memories or the designs and colors just appeal to you, we have included these fabrics in our collection.

We were happy to find this soft 100% cotton lawn during one of our fabric searches in downtown L.A. The red floral is a nod to the 40's and 50’s, deep red, chocolate brown with a pop of turquoise and pink! This lively quilt will brighten your baby’s room. The embroidered images pop from the background like a storybook waiting to be read.

With this red floral we combined our Retro images, but our other image collections - Bugs, Whimsy, or Menagerie- work equally as well since the embroidery floss colors are always carefully picked to complement the fabric. If you are a fan of warm tones this is a great fabric choice.

Retro Green Polka-Dot

We are always looking for fun unisex color ways and patterns. Especially if you are tired of blue or pink being the only choices when it come to baby decor. Nowadays, it is rare that you go to a baby showers where you don’t know the sex of the baby, but some parents still like to be surprised. So if your’er tired of buying yellow, this fabric fits either scenario.

Our green dot 100% cotton lawn was another great downtown find. This retro polka-dot pattern with teal, olive green, and chocolate brown on a cream background come together making it a good choice for a mid century modern or woodland themed nursery.

The sample above was paired with our 32 vintage image collection and hand tied for a quick and easy finish. The 32 image quilt is a great choice for shower activity or group effort.
